Comfortable Friend

Our friendship's like a blanket
On a cold winter's night,
Or a pair of favorite slippers
That seem to fit just right.

It's like a cup of good coffee,
Starting off a perfect day.
It's comfortable as a tee shirt
You should have thrown away.

It's as cozy as an old dog
Curled in your lap, asleep,
As soothing as the music
That touches your heart, so deep.

It's filled with all the sentiment
Found in each card you send.
For nothing is more wonderful
Than having a comfortable friend.
